Overview
Book Magic Org is a nonprofit organization founded by Zahra Bryan, a youth author, motivational speaker, and literacy advocate from The Bahamas. Inspired by the success of her #1 Amazon New Release Black Girl Magic: A Book About Loving Yourself Just the Way You Are, Zahra launched Book Magic Org to promote diversity in children’s literature and to empower young girls—especially girls of color—to believe in their value, voice, and potential.
Mission
Our mission is to:
- Improve literacy rates among young girls in underserved communities
- Provide access to empowering, representative children’s books
- Foster self-love, confidence, and resilience through storytelling
- Create safe, joyful spaces for girls to develop literacy and leadership skills
Our Programs
- Book Drives & Donations
We collect and distribute age-appropriate, empowering books to schools, shelters, and libraries across The Bahamas. - Read-Aloud Events & Literacy Outreach
Led by Zahra and guest volunteers, these sessions promote engagement with reading and build community through stories. - Creative Expression Workshops
Journaling and writing workshops give girls tools to express themselves, share their experiences, and grow in confidence. - School & Library Partnerships
Book Magic Org collaborates with educational institutions to enhance their literary offerings and support reading initiatives.

Founder – Zahra Bryan
Zahra is a published author, TEDx speaker, and student leader. She wrote her first bestselling book at age 8, followed by an inspirational guided journal at 10. Now in Grade 8, Zahra is a champion for literacy, leadership, and self-love among young girls across the Caribbean and beyond.
